Plenty to love

Nov 1, 2012
Plenty has to be one of my favorite stores in Vancouver for browsing. They do a great job mixing up cool labels both local and international. The staff knows what they are talking about and are passionate about the labels they stock and the loyal customer base that they have built. There is always some good music playing and each store has it’s own design and vibe so you never feel like you are in another ‘cookie cutter’ retail concept. Over the years Plenty has cemented it’s reputation as a fashion destination for West Coast hipsters (of all ages). Top womens brands stocked include J.Brand, Free People and Left on Houston. Mens go-to favorites are currently Lifetime Collective, Scotch & Soda, Naked & Famous and Levi’s among many more.

I was invited to the press launch of their new fall collections in September and was able to speak briefly with owner and founder, Murat Imren. Murat opened his first retail store in Kitsilano way back in 1989 after emigrating from Istanbul. This was re-named Plenty 10 years later and has since grown to several locations and five in-house brands (Propaganda , Monk&Lou, Ribbon and Ribbon Luxe, and their denim line, Big Blue). All lines remain exclusive to their own stores and have proven to be very successful.
